Chief Hon. Kenneth Okafor (KSJI), Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs in Imo State, has described the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as a significant moment that underlines a shared national and subnational commitment to infrastructure, humanitarian progress, and inclusive development.
In a statement issued to the press, Chief Okafor expressed his gratitude and welcomed the President to Imo State. He emphasized that the visit goes beyond protocol and ceremonies, describing it as a beacon of renewed hope and unity for the people of the state.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Imo State, I extend our warmest welcome to President Tinubu. This visit is happening at a defining time, and we are proud to receive him as he commissions key projects executed under the visionary leadership of our Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma,” Chief Okafor said.
Among the major projects set to be unveiled are the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Assumpta Flyover, five fully equipped general hospitals strategically located in Umuokanne, Oguta, Omuma, Mbano, and Mgbidi, as well as four critical road networks that have transformed the state's infrastructure landscape.
“These projects are not just concrete and steel. They are a reflection of functional leadership and a deep commitment to touching lives. They speak to the heart of governance, providing for the people and building structures that serve generations,” he remarked.
Chief Okafor pointed out that as the Commissioner overseeing humanitarian affairs, he sees firsthand how infrastructure directly impacts human welfare and societal stability.
“Effective governance must be people-driven. It must prioritize those who need it most, and that is exactly what we are witnessing today. Governor Uzodimma’s achievements align seamlessly with President Tinubu’s national vision. Together, they are delivering results that matter.”
He concluded by reaffirming his full support for both the federal and state administrations, stating that the spirit of collaboration is laying a solid foundation for a better Imo State and a more prosperous Nigeria.
