Kamal Mohammed: A Steady Hand Promoted to ACG (North West)

Comptroller Kamal Mohammed, mni, is a shining example of service, strategy, and unwavering professionalism in a time when the integrity of leadership is frequently questioned. For this reason, it feels both well-deserved and incredibly comforting that he was recently promoted to Assistant Comptroller General (North West) by the Nigeria Customs Service Board.

From his early days in the Service to his impactful tenure as Area Controller, Sokoto/Zamfara Command, Kamal Mohammed has been a commanding presence in border security, interagency cooperation, and anti-corruption enforcement.

A results-driven and human-centered approach to customs administration is demonstrated by his leadership in implementing grain distribution in accordance with federal mandates, improving community healthcare access, sensitizing traders, and intercepting vandalized railway tracks.

Former Nigeria Customs Broadcasting Network (NCBN) Board Chairman Kamal also contributed to modernizing the Service's public relations efforts.

He now serves as ACG, bringing proven expertise and moral leadership to a region vital to trade and national security. Kudos to ACG Kamal Mohammed for his promotion, which was based on merit rather than politics.
